wooden floor protection...Tips req'd

Hi, Just sanded and varnished the floor in the dining room and the wooden legs on the chairs are leaving scratch marks. I know of the felt pads you can buy but have been told that these pads will keep falling off. Is there anything else out there or any tips for this problem? Or is it a case of re-using felt pads with fresh glue and/or replacing with new ones?

Sand the feet of the chairs lightly before you stick the felt pads on.

You should change these regularly (perhaps annually) anyway, as they wear down, & if any grit or dirt gets stuck in them, you will still scratch the floor.

I've never had a felt pad that stayed on for more than a few weeks no matter what I did. I think they are designed to end up in the vacuum cleaner!
