item damaged on delivery

I had a new fridge/freezer delivered -and it was damaged on delivery. Rather noticeable damage to one of the doors.
The driver said to me that it wouldnt be a problem to me - that I just get in touch with Sainsburys (the firm I ordered this from), explain the damage and they would arrange someone to come and swop the door for me and that this doorswopping would be done in my leisuretime (ie evenings and weekends) - rather than my having to take further time off work for this.
On that basis - I accepted the delivery firms offer of "goodwill gesture" of 10% of the cost of the fridge/freezer and put by my signature that the goods were damaged and had been accepted only on the basis that this would be done.
On phoning Sainsburys to arrange when an engineer of theirs would come to swop the damaged door for me:
a. the first person I talked to promised this would be done - but was "iffy" about this being done outside office hours.
b. when I subsequently had to phone again - as I hadnt been phoned back yet with the appointment time - the second person was iffy about the door even being swopped at all.
MY QUERIES:
1. I obviously need Sainsburys to stick to the agreement I have with their delivery firm and the first employee of theirs. How can I ensure they do this? I cant put up with a damaged item.
2. I will require compensation from Sainsburys for the fact that the delivery has taken a whole day of my annual leave in the event (when the arrangement was that it would just take half a day of my annual leave). Obviously also I will need extra compensation if the Sainsburys engineer does come okay (as per agreement) - but will only come in office hours (ie yet more of my annual leave down the swanee to deal with this). What is the position re this please? The delivery driver suggested he thought I would receive £70 compensation from Sainsburys for the damaged door - and that was before the possibility came up of having to use more annual leave for the engineer coming in.
Anyone got any experience of this sort of thing please - and how to deal with it to ensure the engineer does come in my evenings/weekends and I do get the compensation the delivery driver said I would have?
