Buckingham Palace Tickets!

Just noticed that this summers buckingham palace tickets have gone on sale

£15.50 each (adult) for the state rooms - is steep but royalty doesnt come cheap! Also a nice present for parents and grandparents.

The transaction charge (compulsory) of £2.50 is a downer...

Nevertheless its something different! and you never know you may bump into the Queen (one can hope!)

True, it is a bit on the expensive side, but the ticket does offer 'Unlimited Admission' which means (to quote the website):

The purchase of tickets directly from The Royal Collection entitles you to register for 12 months of unlimited admission to the site(s) which you have visited from the date of your first visit.

For more info on this (basically, you need to fill in the form you are sent when you order the tickets directly from The Royal Collection and then get it stamped by a member of staff on the day of your first visit) This is the 'Unlimited Admission' page on the Royal Colletion website.

I took my 2 nephews (8 and 10) whilst we were in London on a 3 day break into the palace and it was worth every penny. I got the family ticket which at £39.75 was a bargain in my estimation. The Palace was probably a once in a lifetime trip for us. I did find it very tireing though because of my mobility problem, but well worth it. Enjoy if you go

No doubt the Queen is using one of her many other residences when the palace is open to visitors.

Why you have to pay to see what tax payers money pays to be built and maintained perplexes me.
