Confused.com

Hi, As detailed in Martins guide I used confused.com to get a quote for my car insurance renewal. On the last page it asked me to submit my Mothers maiden name because "some of the sites confused.com use ask for it".

Am I being overly cautious but as most banks use this as a standard security question surely this is not a good thing to be submitting to a site where you are merely requesting infomation i.e a quote? In the end I submitted a name that was'nt my Mothers actual maiden name.

  • I do it all the time including changing it for credit cards and banks (after I have set up the account)

I can't think why a insurance company would need it for a motor or home policy.
