hi was in South of Ireland an brought a Sony Ericsson K300i phone from 02,it was only 99 Euros and came with 70 Euros credit in it ,now the problem ,was told I could just put my 02 uk genie sim in it and it would work as it's the same network,but now it's telling me to put in proper sim,does this mean that I will now have to get it unlocked to put in my 02 uk sim, can any one help me please

yes. you will need to get it unlocked.
there are no free codes for these, you need to get it unlocked in a shopEx forum ambassador

o2 Ireland and o2 UK will be on different GSM network codes, so your o2 Ireland locked phone won't work in the UK. As Browntoa has said you need to get it unlocked, should cost about £10 - 20 in the UK depending on where you go."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0
