Ryanair.com credit card surcharge

I booked flights through the Ryanair website last night. All the prices appeared clear as I went through the booking process. However, somewhere along the line a fee of £21 was added as a handling fee for using a credit card. This fee was added very surreptitiously. I went back to the site later and eventually found a link I could click which stated a charge is levied for credit and debit cards. I feel Ryanair have introduced this charge in a very underhand manner and have not made the charge clear.

What causes me significantly greater concern is that, even if you find the information about the charge, the information is highly misleading. It states the cost associated with credit card transactions are £1.75. You have to read the note carefully to see that this charge is applied to each passenger per flight section. Having booked 6 return tickets, I was charged 12 credit card handling fees of £1.75.

This application of a charge per tickets indicates that the fee is not associated with administration costs as claimed by Ryanair but is a hidden charge.

I feel Ryanair's approach to this will alienate them from their customers. I feel that the total price I have paid is very good and I would have booked the tickets knowing the price was £21 greater than the total cost of the flights they initially indicated. However, I now feel Ryanair are acting in an underhand manner and I will not trust them in future. I suspect that reader of this note may feel the same way.

I have to admit I always use my debit card to avoid these silly fees easyjet are just as bad charging £4.
I think its discusting im a travel agent and we charge 2% CC fee this is what the bank charges our company to process the payment so we bill it to the customer.
and as the average flight with Ryan air costs about £20 that should be 40p? so nice profit of £1.35 per flight!!!
