How many months you do need to be out of the UK to be tax exempt?

My hubby has been offered work abroad 1 month on 1 month off, he has been told this would make him tax exempt in the uk is this true? If it is and he chose to work for an agency in his month off would he only pay tax on wages earned through this extra work?

Not true I'm afraid, complex area but would remain resident in UK for tax purposes0

HMRC will never accept that rotational employment is full-time so he won't break UK residence.
He may still have a tax liability or filing obligation in the other country that he works.0 -
