paypal put my account on limited access again in the space of a few months

same old story, when i first signed up to paypal my account went on limited access because i had similarities to another account, i proved it and sent all my details off, credit card statements, passport photo etc, and been fine for a few months, now i'm on limited access again, i have three credit cards that are linked to the account and they want me to fax statements for all three of them to them, two credit cards are online statements only, phoned up and they are useles, in fact i dont think i could find a company thats more useless than them, they have departments which make decisions and wont speak to the public, they have front staff desk they cant help wth the cases that the backroom department deal with, its a nightmare, well ive printed off the online statements and faxed them to them, probably have to wait a week before they say god knows what....

rant over.... fed up as he missus wanted to buy something off ebay for the weekend and now she wont be able to :mad::mad::mad:

and another to make me feel better :mad:

Best change your name, move to a new build house and ideally emigrate.

Report them to the FSA.

Opps, you can't because they did a bunk some foreign country.

Actually you can report them to the Financial Service Ombudsmen because they voluntarily opted in when they left for Luxembourg. I know this because I'm considering reporting them myself so i checked last night.:T

i reported them first time round and get a nice email from a boss or someone apologising. opened up my email to get this today from paypal, superb, now i cant use ebay at all, because i havent got a paypal account...... now i suspect because ive had three parcels go missing in as many weeks, one of them being an expensive watch they think i'm a scammer... so annoyed it actualy dosnt boter me about not havin an acoun but the payment options are annoying because i dont fancy sending a chq to usa which is where w buy alot of of stuff.

If ebay was on the level, you could just use googlepayments or nochex instead in this sort of circumstance.

I can't see why this should upset paypal unless you allowed them all to go to a claim as 3 claims will be enough to push you over the edge on high end items.

well it was me making the claims, one the watch was stolen via UPS trackable service, not a problem i thought as it was clearly showing online that it was missing and i was remimbursed by UPS for the duty fees i had paid. the second was some car light bulbs £4!!, seller woudlnt reply just saying they had been sent about two weeks ago, and i cant get anymore info out of him and the third was a pair of jeans from the US, sent via USPS with tracking number, doesn't look as if they have ever left the states as they can provide any further details, its been 6 weeks and i think i was patient enough even the seller said most stuff arrives in about a month.

now I can understand its alot in a short space of time, but its hardly a scammer at work! the watch situation is tricky as the seller tried to pull a fast one and kept goading me he was a power seller and that he has his own paypal representative and will not lose the claim, paypal found in his favour dispite me showing them that the tracking details showed it went missing in transit, so i spoke to my credit card who issue a chargeback and with the evidence i had, reversed the transaction, paypal sent a email to the seller stating something like 'you have helped with this transaction and dont require any further information from you we will take this up with the credit card'.

I'm not too bothered about having no payapl account i've successfully traded before without one and its not caused any problems, buying is a different thing especially from overseas. I suppose i could always use a friends account i only have a few items left and i'm done with the ebay/paypal thing.

I think then you may have answered the question..(sorry I had assumed you were the seller in these cases). Whilst it is quite possible to do a chargeback via a credit card paypal do state that if this is invoked they retain the right to close the paypal account. It looks like this is what has happened.

well thats a bit heeky considering i had proof from the courier that the item was missing i might have wel sprayed fly spray in my eyes than try to explain to paypal that they only have to put the tracking nbr into the website to see the status or see the documentation that i faxed to them, i'm not ashamed to say it that they decided that it was in their best interest to side with a powerseller and little old me would lose out, but they were wrong. well completed my form for the fsa today as paypal have given me their final decision i can now send this claim off, call it petty it wont do anything apart from cost them a couple of hundred quid to go through the complaint.

Arguably, it might have been better to appeal paypal's stupid decision - as it was patently not in line with paypal policy - than go to the credit card. All a moot point now. I suspect Soolin is correct about what has happened to your account. They don't like you doing chargebacks so they've put a stop to it.
