Tax rebate

Hi all,

I was asked to do a tax return for year ending 08 so did so to find i have overpaid by £600 and a couple of pence.

I have been br since dec 07 and after OR interview have heard nothing not even nil tax code.

Am i likely to see this money and if so do i inform the OR. Or will the revenue do that.

thank you for your help

Normally a tax refund for the tax year that you went bankrupt in will be claimed by the OR and paid directly to them. You should have signed a form (TNIDIS) that authorizes this when you first went bankrupt.

So in theory you shouldn't see it. If for some reason a cheque does come in the post, then you must let the OR know.
