Car insurance for first time driver (19, student)

Hey, I recently passed my test and looking into getting my first car.

Im looking at cars what i would see as reasonable for a first time driver, something such as a 1.2 Vauxall Corsa (1993-1999)

Im 19 and male.

But some of the quotes ive recieved from site's such as confused.com, tesco etc have been sky high, all £2000+

I find this ridiculas for a car worth <£500.

Is this what im going to expect to pay or are there better sites for young/student drivers?

Any help would be a massive help.

Cheers.

    Have you tried direct line?

There are some other threads on here regarding young driver car insurance. They list many companies worth getting quotes from. Have a look at those.

try cooperative insurance Society (CIS) on line, they used to be very competitive for young drivers.

    drive safely and enjoy!!!!

Unfortunately mate, sub-1000 is near impossible. I'm a 19 yr old, male, corsa (no mods!) driver, so I should know.

Try https://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk, they were best for me (£1300), and if you go thru topcashback.co.uk, you earn £40 referal fee

Hi - consistently two of the cheapest for drivers of your age are

    Aplan 020 8672 3375
    Adrian Flux 08000 83 88 33

    HTH

PS Neither of them quote on line so you need to ring them
