will writing and storage services

I am looking for a company that will write a will and lifetime storage for a decent price. Cheapest I've found is £460.

I was going to just write a will but I'm scared no one would find it in the event of my death.

Any advice?

Thanks

Why not contact your bank or mortgage holder & ask about cost of storage with your house deeds?

I don't have a mortgage. I will contact my bank and enquire about storage.

gosh - that's a lot of money. Do you have a usual solicitor? I'm in Scotland and my solicitor charges approx £100 plus VAT for a will (usually does a deal on partners wills too). Then they keep a copy, but don't charge for that service. Have you considered that route?

Also, if you keep a copy, have you a family member that would also keep a copy. If you make it known who holds a copy then should you die, it can be easilt found.

    Good luck x

    Hi India,

I would not recommend you enter into any long term storage deals as will writers come and go.

Some will store it on an annual basis.

A long term option for you is the Central Probate Registry. You pay a small one off sum and you are given a receipt.

Wherever you do decide to store it, it should ideally only be accessible to you and your executor(s).
