Confidence boost needed - going bankrupt tomorrow.

I really need a confidence boost for tomorrow :o
I've submited my online forms, printed 3 out. Got my £345 and got my Ex160 form and what I hope they will take as proof of my benefits so hopefully I won't have to pay the court cost but got the money just in case I do. Took my last few pounds out of my bank and arranged for my benefits to be paid by giro this week. Is there anything else I need to do???

It's not butterflies I've got it's great big tigers prancing round and I'm getting more and more panicky as it gets closer, I'm worried the train won't come in the morning, I won't get there in time or I'll get lost and go to the wrong building and if I do manage to arrive in one piece they won't let me go bankrupt. I'v been avoiding the phone all week.

I know I'm being stupid but I'm terrified.

    Hey Jane

Deep breathe mate, just take a deep breathe. I went BR on 10th June, and I remember the night before being convinced something HAD to go wrong. But you have your forms, your money, and you know where you're going - it'll be fine!! And remember we're all with you in spirit :grouphug:

Had mine on Friday. You will be fine. The best advice I had from peeps on here was - to take a book, drink & snack or sweets to suck because it is the waitng around that was the boring bit. Out of all the people there, I was the only one who was prepared and relaxed about it! That was due solely to the helpful people on here.
They were very strict on your current most up to date bank statements and you must have a letter from the DWP dated within the last month to prove what benefits you are on. As long as all the paperwork is correct, then the rest is a piece of cake.

The very best of luck. It will be fine and like other people have said - when you get home you will wish you had done it sooner! :D:D

You've come along way, you're getting there at last! I'm sure we started our BR journey around the same time, we we're panicking on here at the same time thats for sure.

You're about to do something that's going to make you feel so much better when it's over! Good luck for tomorrow, you'll be fine :)

Take a big deep breath and walk in with the attitude "I've to to do this so get on with it!" The quicker it's done the sooner it's over with it's just something I have to deal with. You'll be out in no time.

    Hi there Mrs Bones,

The courts are now asking for proof of income / benefits to be dated within one month of your hearing so if you have that you should be ok with the £150 court fee.

If you are taking the £150 anyway then your B/R should go through if the court staff are not happy with your ex160 / proof of income or not as you have the money anyway.

Dont forget if they do not accept your proof of income / benefits on the day you can still apply for a refund at a later date, suggest you get help from one of the charities with this if it happens.

Try not to worry the court staff will help you all they can and if you have to see the judge he / she will relax and reassure you.

If for some reason there are problems (which is VERY unlikely) there is always another day with plenty of good people on here who will help and support you all the way.

All the very best and keep us updated if you will.

    Hi Bones
My biggest fear was that i had done my forms wrong and they sent me away with a flea in my ear.I was that ruddy nervous, scared, weepy i just followed the clerk all over the courts in a kind of daze. Then when i had to wait(40 mins,he was busy that morn)for the OR call i was convinced someone was going to come and cart me off to jail:p . Needless to say nobody did.

As for tigers in your belly i had great big whopping nellyphants in mine:D .

You may not sleep much tonight but i can promise you tomorrow you will have the best nights sleep you have had in years. Will be thinking of you and waiting anxiously for your up. Stop worrying girl you will be fine.DX

All the best for tomorrow - you will be FINE.

The tough part of Bankruptcy is that it is a long way along a difficult road and there is a sense of a mssive build up to some huge event.

In actuality, tomorrow should be easy peasy for you. Most Court staff are wonderful in their dealings with "Bankruptees" - at my Court - everyone, from the Security Guards to the Counter Staff to the Clerk (never met the Judge) was perfectly kind and even sympathetic and yet at the same time, the process was dealt with smoothly, quietly and efficiently. I can only wish the same for you.

Dress in a way that feels comfortable, put your face on - literally and metaphorically, be as kind as possible to yourself tonight and in the morning and - trust me - it will be a breeze.

You'll be back on here tomorrow, weak with relief and feeling light as a feather, telling us all how easy it was. We'll be waiting to hear.
