Phoned by secured loan people

Hi All
Just had a call from the company with a secured loan on our old house where we no longer live. They said they would be sending a report to their litigation department to see what further action could be taken adding "we're not just going to write the debt off". I said that as it was secured against a property where we no longer live they should go ahead. Was this a mistake? What can they do apart from wait in a queue behind our mortgage provider? Can they come after our possessions when we are BR? Pretty sure they can't but this is the first time I've got a bit nervous... Reassurances would be v welcome!!!

Nah!! they can't do anything. You are BR so the person responsible for all your debts now is the OR. All you need to do if anyone else rings you up is just simply give them your BR details (BR number and court) and your OR's name and phone number and say that any other calls will be regarded as harrasment and you will tell the appropriate body and put the phone dowm.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

God TF I hope you're right. Was perhaps a bit too laid back about this stuff until about 10 minutes ago. Lil says you give good advice so feeling a little less shaky. Not fussed about unsecured but those secured piranhas give me the jitters. Ta.

Me too. This particular institution has been the ugliest and most unreasonable we've dealt with, calling twice a day and informing us that each of those calls would be charged to us at £25 a pop! Am hoping OR will take as dim a view of this as we do, especially as we wrote to them, explained what we were doing and asked that they desist from phoning.0

(((HUGS))) to both of you. Just sit tight.
Do you have caller ID? If so don't answer any calls from the company. If not and you pick up don't answer any of their security questions and say your BR piece. Give the OR a quick bell and say you are being harrassed by these people.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
