Tennant Advice

Hi,

We have a tennant in our flat which we are planning to include in our BR. Can anyone tell me when we should make proceedings to move him on?

Obviously we don't want to 'shoot ourselves in the foot' and if the OR decides that we are not insolvent we are then left with the flat with no tennant??

Another question, what should we do with the money we are getting from the tennant?

Be grateful for some advise?

Thanks Hal

    Hi,

I also have tenanted properties so hopefully may be of some help.

Your post seems a little vague. If the property is in neg equity then your oh should be able to buy the BI (unless you are both going BR then it will need to be someone else).

As a BR the OR will not yet you act as landlord but may ask your oh to (this as the case with me as the rent was paid cash)

If the AST has ended you can serve a section 21 notice now giving 2 months notice to leave, but I would first check the status of the equity ion the house, as if you do get to keep it and you kick out the paying tenant you will have to pay the mortgage until you get another tenant.

Ask the OR re what to do with the rent, mine is happy for my OH to collect and to pay the mortgages.

Please post back and let us know how you get on
