Executor's Duties : Advice

hello
i am about to call in all the assets of a small estate and i have read that executors should make and present a final account to present to the benificiaries so that they may "sign off" on it... is that right?
also,if anyone has found any good websites on administrating i'd be grateful. my googling gets me nowhere

Have you had a look at the probate service website? Do you need to obtain probate? are there any tax implications with regard to the total value of the estate? I have diy administered two estates to date,the first required probate the second didnt. Probate and tax are the first two issues you need to address,after that,it really depends on how much/what assets are involved and whats in the will if any...

I would recommend the Which? books 'what to do when somebody dies' or 'wills and probate'.

Likely to cost about £11.99, or perhaps you could obtain a copy from your local library. There will be many more books on the subject in your local library, but either of these are likely to be the most user friendly.
