Get a credit card - which way is the best????

Does any difference ( better credit limit) when I apply for a credit card in bank branch, during phone call or over the internet. Which way is the best? What is your advice and experience. Thanks

Well, it's not uncommon for lenders to offer different terms and conditions to online applicants from those advertised in branch or by mail shots at one and the same time. My own bank (Halifax) is always at it. When it comes to credit limits though, I doubt whether it makes any difference.

I find branches are best. Online apps are OK, so long as they go through in the first place!

Do your research online first, find the card that's most suited to your needs. Check out any potential competitors, then ring up the competitor and say "X is offering me Y% for Z period, with no handling charge for balance transfers, only £A for late/overlimit fees etc...and can you match or beat that?" If they want your custom, they will most likely make a counter-offer, which could be to your advantage. If they can't match it, then just go with X.
