Should my travel company be cancelling our package holiday now that Maldives is on the red list?
Hi - I'm looking for some advice on where I stand. My family booked a holiday for The Maldives via Luxtripper departing in late August this year. We've had 3 other holidays cancelled in the last 18 months due to the pandemic so we've got some spare cash and have paid for the current booking in full to a value of over £10k.…

Should I involve the ombudsman - can't get a refund
We booked a package holiday in Spain with On the Beach. We booked in Jan 2020 to depart Oct 2020. We also took out separate Travel Insurance with Direct Line on 12th March 2020 and were told we were covered for FCO guidance if it changed. Travel was permitted when we took the policy. We cancelled our holiday on 4th Oct…

Stena Line refund on non-refundable tickets
Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone else in the forum has had an experience with Stena Line. Like many here, we've booked the trip last year and were allowed to re-book this year. Our ferry is bound for Amsterdam (and from there we drive to a few other EU countries) but the Netherlands is not currently accepting non-essential…

Green list return requirements
Hello, could someone clarify the requirements/procedure on return to UK from green list (Gibraltar) in July. I understand a test is needed before return flight and also within 2 days of arrival back. Do I need to find a testing station in Gibraltar or are they given at airport? Where do I get tested in UK? Thanks

Booking Virgin Flights via 3rd Party
I booked a flight with Virgin via PH Travel as it was cheaper than booking with Virgin direct. The flight cost me £688. The flight was to Orlando and was cancelled by the airline. I was offered a credit voucher to use against another flight but I insisted on my right to claim a full refund. I was told by PH Travel that a…

Package holiday refund not forthcoming
We booked a package holiday in Aug 2020 for travel in May 2021. Following the latest government announcement, our destination was red-listed. The travel company initially said no refunds and offered a credit note which we declined. They later offered a partial refund topped up with a credit note. I was 99% sure we were…

Virgin Atlantic - Bravo and Thank You
In November 20 we booked a bargain £996 return Upper class ticket to New York leaving the end of May. Virgin flights are still going so I knew the best we could hope for is a credit voucher which is not the end of the world. We had the option to change the dates two times and additionally make a name change on one of the…

Is it possible to get travel insurance - Amber Country
I'm curious how everyone is getting travel insurance and from where? Seeing as the official advice is to recommend NOT to travel to amber destinations I presume this would invalidate travel insurance as most policies do not cover destinations against FCDO advice. Are people just risking it?

Getting a refund
Hi all, I booked a self catering cottage in France through Interhomes in 2019 for Sept 2020. Due to the covid situation, I rescheduled it to Sept 2021. Rather than just reschedule it, I think the company process was to convert it to a voucher refund and then used this to rebook it - I didn’t really have a problem with this…

Is 6-10 weeks wait for a refund acceptable?
That's how long I've been told I'll have to wait by Olympic Holidays after my package was cancelled as a result of Tui cancelling the flight. I know firms have an obligation to pay in 14 days and wouldn't mind 4/5 weeks but 6-10 seems a long time.

Amber travel is against FCO advise?
I am confused, travel companies are continuing to allow bookings to Amber destinations even though the Foreign office says we cannot fly to these countries for leisure. Most travel companies do say in their policices that holidays against FCO advise would be cancelled. It seems this is currently being ignored. Why are…

Am I entitled to a refund?
Last year I booked a package holiday with EasyJet Holidays. This holiday could not be fulfilled, so I took credit and rebooked the holiday for this year, putting a minimum deposit down from the credit I had. This holiday was also cancelled and I was told I’d have a full refund. What I have now found out is that my original…
