Package holiday refund not forthcoming
We booked a package holiday in Aug 2020 for travel in May 2021. Following the latest government announcement, our destination was red-listed. The travel company initially said no refunds and offered a credit note which we declined. They later offered a partial refund topped up with a credit note. I was 99% sure we were…

Day 2 and 8 testing for UK arrivals
Anyone had any experience with any of the providers of the day 2 and 8 testing service for amber list arrivals to the UK? I have a relative arriving back in the UK from Spain and need to book the tests. I had a look on the government website and there is a long list of companies I have never heard of and no way to tell if…

Green list return requirements
Hello, could someone clarify the requirements/procedure on return to UK from green list (Gibraltar) in July. I understand a test is needed before return flight and also within 2 days of arrival back. Do I need to find a testing station in Gibraltar or are they given at airport? Where do I get tested in UK? Thanks

Expedia never claimed travel voucher on my behalf
Hi everyone, I am looking for some advice on what to do in regards to Expedia not acting on my behalf as instructed. I was due to fly to Portugal last year in May and booked my flights via Expedia, a couple of weeks before the flight was due to depart Expedia sent an email asking if I would like a travel voucher, which I…

Is it possible to get travel insurance - Amber Country
I'm curious how everyone is getting travel insurance and from where? Seeing as the official advice is to recommend NOT to travel to amber destinations I presume this would invalidate travel insurance as most policies do not cover destinations against FCDO advice. Are people just risking it?

Is 6-10 weeks wait for a refund acceptable?
That's how long I've been told I'll have to wait by Olympic Holidays after my package was cancelled as a result of Tui cancelling the flight. I know firms have an obligation to pay in 14 days and wouldn't mind 4/5 weeks but 6-10 seems a long time.

Getting a refund
Hi all, I booked a self catering cottage in France through Interhomes in 2019 for Sept 2020. Due to the covid situation, I rescheduled it to Sept 2021. Rather than just reschedule it, I think the company process was to convert it to a voucher refund and then used this to rebook it - I didn’t really have a problem with this…

Booking Virgin Flights via 3rd Party
I booked a flight with Virgin via PH Travel as it was cheaper than booking with Virgin direct. The flight cost me £688. The flight was to Orlando and was cancelled by the airline. I was offered a credit voucher to use against another flight but I insisted on my right to claim a full refund. I was told by PH Travel that a…

Travel to Iceland/testing requirements
I'm due to go to Iceland in July (delayed from last year, not a package holiday as going on a specific tour). I received Martin's email this week and it says you don't need a PCR test to leave the UK if you're travelling to a green list country. But guidance I'm reading elsewhere says otherwise so I'm confused as to…

Virgin Atlantic - Bravo and Thank You
In November 20 we booked a bargain £996 return Upper class ticket to New York leaving the end of May. Virgin flights are still going so I knew the best we could hope for is a credit voucher which is not the end of the world. We had the option to change the dates two times and additionally make a name change on one of the…

Should my travel company be cancelling our package holiday now that Maldives is on the red list?
Hi - I'm looking for some advice on where I stand. My family booked a holiday for The Maldives via Luxtripper departing in late August this year. We've had 3 other holidays cancelled in the last 18 months due to the pandemic so we've got some spare cash and have paid for the current booking in full to a value of over £10k.…

Hi, New here, Hopefully you all can shed some light on this for us or even just say what i am thinking is correct and leave it there. Am I entitled to a refund?
Last year I booked a package holiday with EasyJet Holidays. This holiday could not be fulfilled, so I took credit and rebooked the holiday for this year, putting a minimum deposit down from the credit I had. This holiday was also cancelled and I was told I’d have a full refund. What I have now found out is that my original…

Amber travel is against FCO advise?
I am confused, travel companies are continuing to allow bookings to Amber destinations even though the Foreign office says we cannot fly to these countries for leisure. Most travel companies do say in their policices that holidays against FCO advise would be cancelled. It seems this is currently being ignored. Why are…

Unable to get a refund for Cycling Holiday
I have been trying to receive a refund from a company called Love Velo, who I had booked a break to compete in the 2020 312 event in Majorca. Due to the pandemic, this event was moved from April to October to April and now postponed again. I am unable to commit to the rescheduling of the event in the future and therefore…

Hotels.Com Complaint Help.
Hello, Hello I am wondering if anyone in the UK can point me in the right direction. I will try to keep this short. Basically I booked a hotel in Iceland through hotels.com for a trip in April 2020 (well before we knew a pandemic was coming). Of course that trip had to be cancelled and hotels.com gave me a voucher to…

Refusal of Section 75 claim for cancelled Oman Air flight ticket
I brought Oman Air flight tickets to travel in July 2020.
Oman Air cancelled the flight one month before the day of travel. After several
attempts to get the refund through the travel agent, I approached the credit
card company for refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Lloyds refused the refund stating…
