Email domain renewal
Hi! I’ve been using GoDaddy for my email address domain (via Microsoft) that I use as a sole trader. It’s up for renewal for what will be my third year. I’m thinking I might be paying over the odds; I paid a mere £4.99 in the first year which is clearly to get you in as a new customer, but this year it is £86 with VAT.…

Microwave query about butter
OK so not about computers but I thought the brainy types here might be able to help answer a question about softening butter in the microwave. OK so usually I take the butter out of the fridge, put it on a plate and leave it on the dining room table overnight. By morning it is normally reasonably spreadable. But sometimes…

Voice controlled land line or dumb mobile phone
Is there such a thing? My wife has very limited vision and struggles when dialling a number that is not in the phone's memory. She has to use a magnifier to read the number and can only enter a few numbers at a time. The pauses during this result in the link beng disconnected. Neither of us can cope with a smartphone.

Anyone good with SQL?
Just wondering if SQL can be made to ignore character case when

I use to allocate a ‘Type’ number in a table in LibraOffice Base.
This looks at a field called ‘Description’ and allocates a Type
number accordingly, like this: UPDATE "tblSpend" SET "Type"
= '4'…

Hey everyone, my son, age 7, as unfortunately totalled his Chromebook - turns out running downstairs with it open wasn't such a good idea after all - who'd have thought eh? Cavity walls, although if you go in a straight line from the router then you actually only pass 1 cavity wall with the other being a false wall. The camera at the back of…
