Moving abroad (currently using AJBell)
Hi everyone I am planning to move abroad (I'm not a British Citizen, in case that makes any difference). I've been using AJ bell ISA as my pension/investment pot for the last few years, but I've realised that, once I'll move abroad, I won't be able to contribute in any way to my savings. So, I was thinking of moving my ISA…

Gilt Trade Issue
In 2023 my bank offered me the opportunity to invest in low coupon gilts and index-linked gilts that were very short term, one expired in March 2024 and one in January 2026. They pointed out that the prices were attractive and I would be only liable to pay tax on the coupon but the capital gain once the Gilt expired and…

Is the real average global equity return only 4.87%?
I'm looking at this fund https://curvo.eu/backtest/en/market-index/msci-world?currency=gbp and it shows the average annual return is only 7.69%. But if we deduct the average UK inflation rate of 2.82% that gives a real return of a measly 4.87%. Why is it so low? But if you switch currencies to USD it shows 9.9%. And if you…

CSH2 ETF Alternative ETF?
Hi I have searched for an alternative to CSH2, but haven't been able to find one, specifically non-distributing ETF. I am looking at moving one of our SIPPS to Fidelity (just for IT / Admin resilience), but they still will not onboard CSH2 (for my cash/cash like holdings). I've looked at ERNS and it would suffice as an…

Inflation: CPIH v RPI
One interesting statistic from this morning's inflation announcement (particularly for those interested in inflation-linked gilts) is the RPI figure. This came in at 3.6%, whereas the CPIH figure was 3.9%. RPI usually higher and sometimes much more so (eg March 2023 13% v 9%)
