Zopa PCP - Can you make overpayments?
Does it continually update the monthly payment if you do, hence reduce total interest and monthly payment and keep the balloon payment in tact?

Usual AA renewal palaver.. :(
Been with the AA for as long as I care to remember. Every year (except one!), we get the usual overpriced renewal. There then follows the usual phone call, haggle and eventual price drop. However this year I simply can't seem to contact them. Their "chat bot" just drops me off with "one of our advisors we be with you…

Paint protection for a new car
Thinking of getting ceramic coating paint protection for a new vehicle. I'm not looking for flawless, no swirls, all that kind of thing. Just protection for the car being outside in an area with poor air quality and lots of birds. Easier to wash would be nice too. Been quoted £350 but they didn't say exactly what product…

Seeking advice re longevity of a Citroen Berlingo
Hi, I am a "mature" lady whose knowledge of cars extends only to getting in and driving it. I have an 11 yr old Citroen Berlingo with very low mileage (currently 28,746). I have the car serviced once a year. I was recently unable to drive for several weeks and the battery became flat. I had to call the AA and the upshot of…

Valid Rejection on 5 week old car?
Hey all, I bought a car around 5 weeks ago, and whilst I love the car the quality has been very poor. The car was bought on PCP brand new. First off the car was missing some of the spec/trim however I didn’t mind the look so they were great and agreed to fit one of the extra packs as a compliment instead of the extra trim.…

Rejecting a used car - checking that I’ve done everything right so far
On the 9th of July I bought a new car on Halifax car finance. Later that the engine fault light came on. Reported it to the dealer immediately by email and phone. They seemed slow to deal with it, telling me I would need an appointment to bring it in to their garage but not actually giving me an appointment, telling me the…

Concerns Over GardX & Vehicle Prep
Hi all, Looking for some advice on whether this is worth escalating or if I should just let it go. I recently bought a used car from an approved Mercedes-Benz main dealer. I had been speaking with them via email prior to viewing the vehicle and negotiated the deal remotely. I originally planned to buy the car outright with…

Advice on car accident
I live in a cul de sac with a turning space for large vehicles. I reversed slowly out of my drive and to the right. There was nothing ahead. As I moved forward a car reversed out of the turning space and hit my right wing. At the time I was already distressed about something and just couldn't deal with it. Their view was…

Haggling on Ex-demo
Having not bought a car for a while, I had seen a 6 month old Skoda Kodiaq, road tested it and thought if the price was right I would buy it. To my surprise the dealer not only offered me rock bottom price on my car, but would not lower price on Skoda, so I walked. Having done some research google tells me dealers are…

Car engine cap issue
Hoping someone can help as I’m rather clueless when it comes to cars! I bought a Hyundai Tuscon from motorpoint back in Feb along with purchasing 1 year extra warranty. I took it for a service & MOT last week and was told by the garage that he had to replace the engine cap as there was a Kia cap on the engine. When…

Informing insurers of repairs, self-paid?
Do you tell your insurers of any bumps/scrapes/repairs which you have paid for yourself and not claimed for. I have recently had a claim/repairs and during the phone call, was asked and said I had also had a minor bump, paid by myself. They still required details, as it builds up a picture of my driving.

Karcher K2 pressure washer
I have been given a K2 pressure washer and understand that as long as I use a low setting and use it from approx two feet away, it will be fine for washing a car. However, I have a small stone chip mark, on the thin edge of my door, which I have painted/dabbed over. Will this still be okay for the pressure washer?

Hit and run and insurance
Hi my car was damaged mildly in an unwitnessed hit and run. Have protected ncd. I didn't realise this would be a fault claim and excess being deducted from any repair or total loss. I went through gocompare who provided £250 free excess, but AA say they know nothing about it. Any thoughts? Additionally, what % would this…

Lease car needs out of warranty repair
Hi, I have a Peugeot e-2008 which I've leased since March 2021. We extended the lease to five years when the initial three were up (big mistake!). Anyway the air conditioning has packed up and it looks like the compressor needs replacing (we've tried a regas and had a diagnostic run). Given that this is still on lease with…

Car breakdown issues directly after garage service - garage not taking responsibility
Summary: I recently got my car serviced and very soon afterwards my car started to break down. The garage have examined the car and are not taking responsibility for the issue, and I am being faced with a hefty repair bill. I would like some advice on how likely it is that the garage that performed the service is at fault,…
