titivating to improve the sale price
Hi Want to sell my car & get the best possible price. Thing is it's had a few scrapes while I was learning (tight drive way, NCP car park turns, that kind of thing). I keep seeing adverts for creams that polish away these minor scratches. Do they work? What's the best one? Don't want to spend money for a rubbish product,…

Anyone know where I might get one a bit cheaper? Have been surfing for wreckers etc but only finding mechanical parts so far. Ta in advance C

Opinions/experience new style Skodas?
BF has a Toyota Celica which we're planning to sell eventually, and hope to replace with an estate car. We're thinking one of the newish Octavias, would be second hand though and preferably diesel. We like these because we're effectively getting a VW Passat for much less cash (and he used to drive a Passat which was ace).…

cost of car -v- salary
I am sure it is not a simple calculation as clearly the higher your salary the greater proportion you have as disposable income. That said and done though.... what proportion of your annual salary would you think is reasonable to spend on a car -v- its sale price?

Hi MSEs, my partner and I agreed to buy a used car from a local main dealer, and signed the agreement and handed over a £100 deposit from our account. Why is one brake pad wearing faster than the other?
Just checking today and it appears that driver side brake pads nearly worn right down whilst passenger side has loads of material left. What does this indicate and will it be cheap to fix?

Buy cash or finance?
We are going to be buying a car soon and looking to spend up to £5000. We were going to pay by cash, but we wondering whether we should buy it on finance, as hubby seems to think there might be a good reason to do this, but can't think what it is! What is your opinion? Cash or finance?

Expiring Endorsements
I have 2 endorsements expiring in October after four long years. Car insurance companies always ask for five years history. If I was to get car insurance with a new company in November would I need to tell them about my expired endorsements? Surely if they have expired the insurance company will never know???…

Wobbly tyres!
I've got a 1991 BMW 318iS and normally run Goodyear F1 tyres (£32 each from mytyres.net). These don't last long, around 10K max. Anyway, I was going to work on Monday when the car went very sideways on a 90 deg bend. "slippery road" I thought. It then went very sideways on a roundabout and I was suspicious. So I had a look…

Clio Mk3 Lights
Hi there I have a 1998 Mk2 Clio and would like to change the rear lights to Mk3 ones. I know that if i buy lexus lights they fit both Mk2 and 3 clios, but are the standard lights any different, and does it make a difference if my car is a Mk2 not a Mk2.5 (which was made in 2000-01 and had slightly different styling)?
