Cheapest time to buy kiln dried wood?
I'm having a multi fuel stove fitted in a few weeks and I have been told that spring/summer is the cheapest time to buy wood? Looking at buying 1m3 of wood, hoping this and some smokeless fuel will last me a winter? But which month would you say was the cheapest ?

Eco friendly boiler scrapage scheme
I’ve been contacted by Eco boilers who install new energy efficient Zanussi boilers with no up front costs. Paid for on a monthly maintenance plan. I’m not sure how they got my details but I did click on a link with Martin Lewis’s picture on. So I’m not sure if it’s a genuine deal or a clever form of cold calling-do you?!?

Coal vs Oil vs other?
Hi, I'm actually asking on behalf of my mother in law so I don't have all of the facts but she is now coming up to the point where her coal fired boiler needs replacing. From what I have read so far it doesn't seem like many people are going for coal any more and most switch to oil or maybe even biomass when gas isn't…

High Gas Bill - Last chance!
I have had an ongoing dispute with Scottish Power about my Gas bill since February and have brought in the ombudsman but with no success... I live in a 2 bed flat and they are claiming that I have used £300 worth of gas a month since November! This is just not possible - I have lived here for 10 years and nothing has…

How do I know it's my gas meter?
Hi all. Firstly, I'm new to renting - I've recently just moved out from my parents. This is all confusing to me so I'm going to try and explain it the best I can. The property I rent is a 3-bed apartment on top of a business Mon-Friday. It's basically a head quarters with some offices in etc. My gas meter is located within…

Will I get charged for having my meter changed?
I've just moved into a new property which has a single rate electricity meter but I want to be on economy 7. I also want to change to a different supplier than the one the previous tenants were using. The energy supplier I want to go with said they will have to charge me £80 to change the meter to an E7 one. So I thought,…

Recommend a system boiler for megaflo?
We have a Heatrae Sadia megaflo, we have a 5 bed house, two bathrooms. We have a really old boiler, some 20+ years old, it's still going strong but is probably inefficient and we want to move the boiler from the kitchen to upstairs bedroom, in cupboard above the megaflo. So time for a new boiler. Any recommendations?

Praise for Boilerjuice or its contractors
Not sure whether this is praise for Boilerjuice or the companies it contracts with but for the last few deliveries I have asked for standard delivery and they always come faster than the date they give. Doubt about price comparisons

According to MSE I currently pay £63 a month but I actually pay £92. How is it that as a member if the most recent price comparison change my true payment details are not known by…
