Fuel Price Increase
Hi Every One See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it. We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr. Philip H. offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil…

Geo-thermal heating
At least I think thats what its called - I'm going to start building my new house next year and am looking into geothermal heating - the one where you lay coils of piping under the ground where its a constant 10 degrees and this in turn is converted into enough heat to heat your house and water. Does anyone know anything…

Time limit for invoicing work?
Hi, I had a new boiler installed by a large utility company a few months back. I experienced a catologue of problems prior to installation, including a weekend with no heating and many hours on the phone to call centres. I have subsequently put in a complaint to the company in question and been offered a 10% discount on…

oil getting WAY too expensive
Ive just had my oil tank filled (1300 litres) and its cost me £436.17 including VAT. The price of oil is getting ridiculous. Has anyone got any ideas on how to cut down my fuel consumption as to heat our old drafty house it is costing us over 17% of our total income on electricity, oil and coal (we need the coal fires as…

Non electric heaters required
I need a non-electric form of heating for my bathroom. I have central heating but there are no radiators in my bathroom and I don't want to spend extra in installing one. Are there any small portable gas/liquid fuel heaters which can be used to heat a room for 10-20 minutes?

Oil - Myths and real savings?
As an oil heating user, one big bill each year is the oil - the costs are now up significantly. Point is, over the years I have heard so many tips that I wonder which is a myth and which is genuine: 1. "It costs more to run your boiler if you set the temp "too low" " I run mine on the min setting, but the engineer tells me…

Lines dry tank still full
Hi, I have been trying to run my tank out of oil in prep for a new gas boiler. I thought I had successfully completed my mission just in time for April, but it turns out the lines are dry from the tank, both the return and supply and the tank still has 17" of fuel in it. What gives? I was told by a relative in the business…

Heating Oil
Just obtained a quote for 1000 litres of heating oil from Boilerjuice @ 23.85p/ltr. Other local quotes came in at 24.5p/ltr and 24.75p/ltr. I told the supplier of the latter price, they matched it - no quibble. Just another option when getting quotes.

Central Heating Oil - can it be bought in a container
Strange request I know, but does anyone know if you can get oil in a container rather than a tanker delivering it??? The prooblem is that I have purchased a house and the oil drum/container is at the back of the property and it has just run out. Unfortunately there is no side entrance to the property, and the previous…

Oil energy saving
This may seem like a silly question, but do you save the amount of oil used in the same way you would save gas and electricity or can you not be more efficient because the oil burns at the same rate when you need to power the burner for hot water and heating? What i mean is if I turn off some radiators but have others on…
