Martins trick
I was reading Martin's info regards Flexible cash ISAs and at the end there is a suggestion to beat the system, or rather play the system, of withdrawing your cash, placing into a high interest, non ISA then paying it back into a cash ISA before the end of the tax year. Can someone please explain a little more. I was under…

Trading212 - I wouldn't bother
Just, finally, managed to open a Trading 212 Cash ISA account, what a palava. Mainly in pursuit of their .72% bonus for new customers opening an account through the MSE link. Took ages, taking photographs of self and ID docs etc. Eventually got the account opened, despite being sidetracked to open Stocks/shares ISA, only…

Saffron Building Society Application Procedure - How long?
On the 3rd of May I applied for a fixed rate ISA with Saffron Building Society. I was not an existing member and had to go through setting up password and memorable question. After doing this the application process appeared to have been completed and I was informed that a user id would be sent to me by post within 5 days…

LISA to Cash ISA
I spent the last few years maxing out my Lifetime Isa (and a H2B before that). I'm now in the very fortunate position that my husband (who I didn't know when I opened the LISA) earns quite a lot of money and the properties we've been looking at far exceed the LISA limit of £450,000. There's no way of avoiding the 25%…

CMC Invest ISA
Is anyone using a CMC Invest ISA? It's listed on the ISA page under Non-standard due to the way the money is help - their website says its protected in FCA.

Switch Investment ISAs to Cash ISAs whilst I can
My wife and I are in the "distribution phase" of our financial lives. Due to the 20k annual limit, I'm yet to complete moving all those funds staying in cash into cash ISAs. With the potential for a reduction in the annual cash ISA allowance, I'm considering switching 2 investment ISAs into cash ISAs before the Autumn…

Shepherds Friendly £100pm and ISA allowance
I've only ever owned nationalisation shares, and I'm now dipping my toe into the world of managed stocks and shares funds. Being a cautious investor I thought I would start off with a £100 pm ISA with the 199 year old Shepherds Friendly Society. I realise my investment might have lost value a year from now but there is a…

Plum ISA
My advice to anyone thinking of opening a plum ISA is DONT DO IT!! They changed the way they pay the interest halfway through the year. The bonus part of the rate does not get paid until the 31st of May. They are making it hard for me to transfer out. The only contact with them is via a message, waiting for replies is…

I’d like to transfer my Kent Reliance easy access cash ISA to a new provider. The new provider is asking for sort code, account number, and roll (or reference) number. I’ve looked everywhere under my account on Kent Reliance website and can’t find any of these details anywhere! I can only find a 13-digit account number…

What does the Bonds "performance" Chart mean?
How do I interpret this please? I understand the decline in bonds at the 2022 mini-budget but to my eyes it looks like there hasn't been a "recovery" back to the 2020-2021 levels?? If an equities fund graph looked like that it would not be so good. I get it that bonds work differently and their value depends on interest…

I’ve not subscribed…

Thoughts on Bond Funds - Schroder High Yield Opportunities???
I want to put 50% of my pension (and ISA) into a Bond Fund. I am 58. I will keep the rest as equities and cash. This is my split I'm going to do: PENSION: Bonds 50%, Global Equities 40%, MM Cash 10%. ISA: Bonds 50%, Global Equities 50%. I was looking at the Schroder High Yield Opportunities Fund to fulfil the Bonds…

Principality - paying into more than one cash ISA in a tax year
I've had a Principality Online Bonus 5 Access Cash ISA for a few months - decent rate of 4.5% of which 1.55% is a 12-month bonus. I've got a fair bit of money in there but my bonus rate will disappear in November. Recently realised my account is an "issue 2" and I can also open the same account again because it's now…
