No Claims Bonus discount
Please can someone help me understand this. I have NCD for 9+ years, protected. My renewal notice states my NCD is still for 9+ years. What happens if one changes to a different company? Does this still stay at 9+ years, Does this stay the same 9+ years even if there has been a claim in the previous 3 yrs?

Home insurance Notification Claim
Having just gone out for quote on my home insurance I have been surprised to learn there is a claim on the database from June '23. Having not made any claims on my home insurance ever, I had not factored this in when obtaining insurance quotes. After a bit more digging with Hastings and AXA I have found out that a…

Unemployed or retired
Hello my car insurance is due. On comparison sites the difference between putting unemployed and retired is about 30% more if unemployed. I haven't given up on finding a part time job, but it is quite unlikely due to personal reasons. Would it be ok to put retired but then change my policy details mid policy in the…

Undisclosed claim?
I renewed my Home insurance 21/10/2024 from Sainsburys to Oneprotect. Today I got a letter stating that I had not disclosed a claim from 1/12/2019. To get in touch with Oneprotect I had to go to their website and go to "live chat". I did this and told them that my wife and I had no recollection of any claim since we moved…

Learner insurance when accompanying driver has an EU licence
Hello, I'm trying to find a learner insurance for my son so that he can practice driving with me in the family car. Now, I have an EU driving licence and that seems to be a major issue. Naively I thought that it would be fine as the gov.uk website states that, legally the accompanying driver may hold an UK, EU, or EEA…

What counts as declined / cancelled insurance?
Some background: I had a DG10 driving conviction a couple of years ago. Accidental Life Insurance
Hi all. Mt Dad died last year and had prepared me for the things I needed to sort when he passed. As he died as a result of a fall, the inquest ruled Dad's death as an accident. I know you have a previous thread on this but it doesn't cover my situation. I am a leaseholder in a block of flats. Our fittings are covered under buildings insurance but the excess is £800.
