DH reduced his hours at work.
We have taken on board lots of the advice on this forum, particularly within the old style board, and completely changed our outlook on making and spending money. Money saving for us has been about a particular purpose. That purpose is spending more time together as a family. We managed to make sure that me spending time…

I came to the site looking for mortgage advice, but it's been a real eye-opener and I've begun to change my ways in so many ways.... I've even learned to cook (thanks OldStylers!!!). One of the most…

Next Clearance
Yesterday I went in to a Next Clearance shop and they had a final clearance event on. There was loads of stuff for less than £10 and kids clothes started from £1. I had a quick look, as you do if there may be a bargain to be had, and I picked myself up a very nice suit for £14 (the jacket was even petite). Abit of an iron…

Tesco/Morrisons/Asda (bogof rotation)
This is a habit that I have got into over the past 4 months or so, and it easily saves me £120 per month on my shopping bill. Basicaly the 'big 3' Supermarkets (Tesco, Asda and Morrisons) all have bogofs (buy one get one free) on a range of goods at any one time. In my experience Morrisons is the best, then Tescos followed…

I bought 2 of them which I cooked on Christmas Eve and after feeding family of 5 I now have one left for us and a guest for Boxing day. So my turkey today was just £2.49-no bones-no waste-just…

How much I have saved.
Recently I have been very proud of saving some money, then the tv show and this site caught my eye.
