What's wrong with these tomatoes please.
https://imgur.com/FUHjdwX Can anyone tell me what's wrong with these please. They are Ailsa Craig growing in growbags. We have several different varieties growing and the all seem to be OK. Had a look in a 'Be Your Own Vegetable Doctor' and nothing looks like this. Thanks Pam

Lawn edging on a slope
Bit of a WWYD, as I've not seen anything similar on the boards. Warning, bit of an over thinker! Since my lawn is on a slope, the previous house owners cut a foot wide channel along the fence so the 'step down' occurs before the fence, about 20cm deep. So it makes the fence on a level floor and the lawn is level. As time…

Why are so many plants mislabelled?
I have a row of three prostrate rosemary shrubs, grown from specimens in 3” pots. Except they are 1 meter tall and would be far higher had I not repeatedly chopped them back. Prostrate? Nah. I had a blue hyssop that produced white flowers. And I have a redcurrant that produces pale pink fruit. I bought some chilli seeds…

Multi-coloured roses
Driving to work, I've seen a couple of houses with roses that look as if they have red and yellow roses on the same plant (and some blooms red/yellow mixed). Does anybody know what they are likely to be?

Seagulls!
Does anyone have any idea on how to scare off seagulls from a garden. They are very large and muscular with hooked beaks and unfortunately the are becoming increasingly bold. Badgers, rabbits and foxes
Does anyone have any experience of growing veg in an area with badgers, rabbits and foxes on site? I have seen evidence of all 3 on the land. We have a big badgers sett and I regularly see rabbits. Also my delightful dog often finds fox poo to roll in! I was going to do a chicken wire fence but someone said a badger can…

How much is too much?
I am in the process of receiving quotes for two conifers that need topping and basically trimming back. I have never had to look to get someone in before as my father in law has always done it- but he can’t anymore. How much for two medium sized conifers should I be looking at for the work? Any advice would be hugely…

How to measure the drop of a sloping garden
Our large back garden consists of a patio, another flat area at the far end and and a slope of varying gradient in between the two. Can anyone suggest a relatively simple way of measuring the vertical difference between the two flat areas? I have looked online but couldn't find a solution, but I may have been using the…

We feed the birds In the garden sunflower hearts and peanuts (the squirrel family in the trees also love peanuts) so we are buying in bulk at present. It just dawned on me though, how long can peanuts be kept in plastic containers (with lids) before they go off? It’s much cheaper to buy a large 25kg bag, but not sure how…
