thought i'd put this up as a new thread (hope that's ok!) - haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere but it's a great book from friends of the earth (£12.99) that is FULL of ways to save money that also save the environment. can't recommend it enough...worth seeing where you can get it cheaper...or popping down to the library?…

How do I recycle??
Drink cartons? They can't go into the organic bin because of the plastic lining... Eg. innocent smoothy thinks cartons... Bottle lids The glass bottle lid looks like it is made of metal. Does it then go with the cans.

Recycled storage containers etc.
I am always amazed at the amount of those plastic take away containers people throw away. Once washed out, they make great containers for packed lunch and leftover food for the freezer.
