Flowering Bulbs
Newbie gardener here. I've read April is a good month to plant summer flowering bulbs. What plants should I look for and where should I buy them (I bought a cheap mixed box of 80 bulbs one year, planted them and about 10 flowered). Any tips to ensure best results much appreciated.

Garden waste/rubbish
My parents garden has accumulated a large pile of branches and random non-green waste in a rear corner. What started as a small compost heap has morphed into a huge pile over 30+ years that would fill a small skip. I am in the process of separating the non-garden waste items which include old household items (curtains,…

I have come into posession of a Bosch Rotak 36V cordless mower after the death of my mum. Peat-free potting-on compost
Hi all, I've had good luck germinating seeds on coco coir (which has the added benefit of being really easy to transport if you don't have a car) but I'm struggling to find a good peat-free compost for potting on. As I understand it, coco coir is low nutrient and so really only suitable for the fist step. I've tried a…

Does anyone grow pea shoots?
I'm wondering how best to grow them, since they get cut so small. How deep would any soil need to be and could I just put vermiculite on top rather than covering the seeds with soil - I'm just hoping to keep the shoots as clean as possible so they don't get damaged washing them. Any experiences?

Cheap screening/fencing ideas
Hi all, hope you're doing well. I have a need to create an L shaped bit of screening in my garden, each prong of the L being around 6 to 8 foot long. We have a Rowan tree in our front garden, the house is about 20 years old and the tree was well established when we moved in three years ago.
