My veggie patch is started!
Yay - DH and I were all productive yesterday, and dug me a veggie patch. I have to be extra nice to him as he thinks that it's a waste of money (we had to buy a spade and some compost and seeds and apparently that's only the start of it  ) but he did do the majority of the digging :D Sooo, as usual I have a few…

My bamboo has had little ones - will they grow into big ones?
The bamboo I have growing in a pot outside has got some new shoots coming up, they're about 3" tall at the moment. Can I remove them to a new pot to make a whole new bamboo plant? And if so how do I go about it? Did try googling but got a load of nonsense about bamboo flooring! Not quite at that stage yet.....

Hi guys I noticed in Woolworths in Cirencester, all their own-brand seeds were reduced to 30p a pack, including a £2.99 pack of herbs and LOTS of veggies. Also Johnson's seeds were all down to 60p per pack. Hope that helps someone. xx

Garden money saving
A few tips to save money in the garden: Instead of buying seed trays for sowing seeds cut the bottoms of plastic milk cartons. Also I use containers which previously had cherry tomatoes in, purchased from Lidl. These already have drainage holes in so are ideal. Cotton bud containers are also good. You can also try egg…

How deep do potatoes go?
Not sure if this belongs here, or "In my home" but I'll give it a go... Our refuse collection service has just changed to wheely bins, so I've got 3 spare conventional bins. Rather than throwing them away, I thought I'd use them for planting some potatoes. Now, to save soil/compost and make them easier to move, in similar…
