Debit card car rental
I recently rented a car and used my debit card to pay. The rental company returned the deposit but there was a £70 discrepancy. They said this might be a charge from the bank and I should contact them. Does anyone have experience of this and what I can do?

Car Windscreen Nightmare - Avis chasing money after 8 months
We went to South Africa in March. HIred a car from Avis with Insurance. We had an issue where a flying piece of gravel caused a crack on the car windscreen. Avis did nothing about this and 6 months later, in September, decide they will invoice us for the damage. They said Corona Virus had caused delays in picking up on…

Do people still see value in prepaid cards like FairFX?
Just asking about this as I've had one for a few years but with other choices now like Metro bank or internet banks like Monzo do people still think there is a need for currency cards? I was wondering whether to cancel mine or keep it. Thanks

Has anyone else dealt with Virgin Atlantic for a refund on flight tickets only to find them not honour the full amount?

Ryanair's perverse luggage charges
I just went to add a 20kg bag to my flight home to London on Ryanair next weekend and they wanted £40. However, I noticed that the fare for the same flight was now less than £6- and when you book a new flight the bag is only £20. So, I just booked a new flight for £25.66 including the bag! How mad is that?!!

Actual exchange rates received on no commision travel card (e.g. Halifax clarity)
I used my card abroad and then checked the actual rates I received on my statement, and compared with the actual market rate on that day as per xe historical charts, and I see a big difference (around 1.5%). Is this because Mastercard are also taking 1.5%?

Rebooking fee

Flight rescheduled - should the airline pay for a hotel?
I have a flight booked for AMS-FRA-BOG. It was supposed to be a short transit in Frankfurt, but now Lufthansa have informed me that they’ve changed the date of the FRA-BOG sector, so I’ll be staying overnight in FRA. I know when airlines change schedules/create delays at the last minute, they’d have to pay for a hotel if…

How best to convert Yen to GBP?
Hi all, Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but none of the other boards seem to fit... Long story short, my wife has a fairly large amount of (actual, physical) Japanese Yen that we'd like to convert to GBP. What's the best way to do that? Slightly longer version - it used to be a huge pain to transfer money…

Hello everyone, I had recently rented a car from Sixt and I have caused no damages or accident but while returning the car it was noticed there were minor scratches, it was only noticeable when the guy who was checking was feeling it with his hands at that point. FairFX website problems
I now have a new FairFX card, and my wife has a linked card, but there is almost nothing we can do with them on the website. For our own reasons we do not want financial apps on our phones, but the old website allowed us to print detailed statements and transfer funds between the cards. The letter that came with the linked…

Jack's Flight Club hidden subscription scam?
Hi, I signed up with Jack's flight club premium back in January to try them out and although they were surprisingly vague with the offers they sent (they only suggest you search yourself for a period), I decided not to ask for a refund in my first 30 days as I wanted to support a small business. Anyway, jump to today,…

Contacting Ryanair
I booked Ryanair flights to France back in January. I was supposed to fly in August to France but could not go due to the isolation restrictions. I had travel insurance with a 3rd party that stated I was able to claim if there was an FCO warning against all but essential travel (which there was). The insurance company paid…
