Any UK car hire companies will hire without credit card
Have searched online and can't seem to find an answer. Some posts lead to Avis perhaps - however, only for Visa debit (which I don't have) not sure if you have to put down a cash deposit? Has anyone hired a car in the UK without a credit card in their name? Thanks GJ x

Compensation for non-EU flight cancellation?
I recently had a flight cancelled for commercial reasons. The airline did not make any excuse, technical or otherwise - they admitted it was cancelled for commercial reasons - and I was wondering if I'm entitled to compensation. The difficulty is, this was a long-haul flight into the EU with a non-EU carrier (Gulf Air),…

visa debit card charges
I followed the mse advice to pre-order euros to be picked up at the airport. I used my coopbank visa DEBIT card to pay for these and was sirprised to discover that this cost me money. A fee of £20 was charged by visa on a purchase of about £1000. I fail to see why I should be charged to make this purchase, anymore than if…

URGENT Ryanair question
I booked some flights with Ryanair a few weeks ago, departing tomorrow. At the time I didn't think we'd need checked baggage, so booked just with cabin baggage. Now I think we'll need to check at least one piece of baggage, so I want to add this before I check in online. However, when I go to the page on the website to add…

WorldwideWideInsure.com
I'm looking at getting some hire care excess cover from WorldWideInsure.com for my forthcoming trip to Mallorca this summer. It's £26.60 for a 14 day cover + 12% via QuidCo. The policy as a whole looks reasonable: * £2000/claim * There is NO exclusion for damage to tyres, windscreens and vehicle underbody. (This means it…

Mr O'Leary... are you listening?
After the epic number of Ryanair threads over the last few weeks and that "you haven't been scammed if..." thread, I've noticed a couple of things have recently appeared on Ryanair's site:* On the home page there's a pretty prominent link explaining in very clear English how the new rules work, what ID is acceptable, the…

Beware car hire using debit card
I recently paid the deposit by debit card for an online rental, from which the conformation stipulated paying balance on arrival by hirer's credit card. Despite an assurance from the broker (comparison/trawler site) that debit was fine, I had to make a special arrangement with the hire company through the broker to be able…

Anyone know of a WORLWIDE Flightchecker?
Like the europe budget one Martin has on here? The good thing about it is it picks the dates of the cheapest flight anywhere, unlike having to find them. Looking for a Decmeber UK-USA flight!! Skyscanner doesn't show you the cheapest dates, just the cheapest on the dates you put in! GRRR
