British Gas, taking tariffs when moving
I always been a fan of British Gas despite their slightly higher prices, I have service service deal with the and they have been quick to respond when needed. Was stuck with OVO for a while who were simply appalling. I have a fixed deal with British Gas until June 23. I’ve just moved and they have allowed me to take it to…

Energy Costs
Thanks for lobbying so hard to limit energy price rises (though my energy costs will still have risen from £100 per month last year to £250 this year). It's a lot of money to find when you're on a limited income.

Possible energy scam???
Waiting to hear back from a friend but thought I'd check here in the meantime. So friend has messaged me annoyed that OVO has told him they need to repay the £400 that was sent to them previously. (????) So they will send this to his bank account and he needs to repay this into his energy account. I've asked him for…

Energy Cap Guarantee: Electricity only rates? Economy 7
Hi, I have only seen so far rates for dual energy. What about people who only have electricity and also economy 7 (off peak rates)?

Scottish Power Tariff List
For anyone wanting to know the latest electricity tariffs Scottish Power are offering, have a look at this link. I've always found it accurate and it is very quickly updated. In fact, since last week they've removed all fixed or flexi tariffs (at least on my type of meter). It doesn't show October prices yet. These won't…

Radiator thermostats

No lights on Electric meter
Hi There, I moved into my new rented property just over 2 weeks ago and the property has a Prepayment Key Meter. The Agents have said that they put £250 on the key a while ago whilst work was being carried out at the property and they think there must be over £100 left on it. Thr problem is that there are no lights on the…

Solar PV export tariff
Has anyone out there looked into or challenged their PV account with regard to the amount paid for exporting surplus energy? I am currently getting paid approximately 4p/KW, but paying around 6 times the amount for electricity bought off the grid!

What's the point in multiple energy suppliers now?
All they'll really be doing for the next 2 years is administering a fixed price to their various customer bases. No real value in switching, no fixed deals, no EV tariffs, etc. Of course there are a few exceptions to the above, such as legacy fixed deals below the new cap or whatever, but basically the vast majority of us…

Boiler Scrappage Scheme
Hi, I installed my venerable (60% efficient) boiler around 35 years ago! It’s simple design makes it easy to service, long lasting BUT it’s vastly inefficient! Anyone know if there is likely to be a new Boiler Scrappage Scheme?

Should Liz Truss have offered free solar panels as well?
Setting a new price cap of £2500 for the average household from October is a good quick way to deal with the immediate bills, but I'm wondering if something should have been done around offering either heavily discounted or free solar panels as well (possibly means tested for qualification), even if you didn't get the feed…

Guess the unit costs of the new cap :)
So we know the cap is now £2500, So I'm guessing the standing charges will be approx 48p electric and 27p gas then 11p/kWh gas and 32p/kWh electric (obviously with regional differences) Anyone else?

Energy price freeze for those who's suppliers not subject to cap...
Has anyone heard any suggestions what might happen to domestic customers with a green supplier not subject to a price cap when it comes to a possible price freeze? Companies like Ecotricity or Good Energy as examples. Will these customers benefit from any freeze too if their suppliers aren't normally capped? Difficult to…

Domestic Supply via Micro-Business Contract - end of 12 month fixed
Hi, We have a domestic electricity supply to our home but it is delivered over a micro-business supply (property used to be commercial before we purchased it). We have had the supply for 7 years now and each year have agreed a 12 month fixed unit rate and signed domestic waivers etc. Coming to the end of this 12 month…

Sneering tone
I'm seeing a lot of "nobody told you to fix" posts on here today. The truth is, for many people who "chose" to fix in the last couple of months it was an act of necessity, not a choice. All the noises from the (mostly absent) government and from both leadership contenders was that the price cap would remain, and that any…

Energy price cap freeze? what to do if you've just fixed!?
Hi all, With Truss apparantly about to announce a freeze on energy prices what should we do if we've just fixed? We've just purchased our first house and set up energy bills for the first time (we weren't responsible for them at our previous home our employer was.. long story). We've just fixed with Utility Warehouse for…

Sun claims 4 month freeze on April cap levels.
Seems way too short of a commitment leaving fixers in no mans land as its a gamble if it increases again at end of 4 months. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/19716648/liz-truss-freeze-energy-bills/
