What are my rights?
Work in a small org. A small org that say on their form when joining they don't recognise any union. I'm know they can't reject any so looking to join one. Without giving too much away everyone in our department apart from me quit over pay issues. I've been, for over 10 months, doing more than my fair share to keep the…

Employment laws protecting parents
I wanted to ask if there are any specific laws which protect parents who work? I am trying to help someone who feels their workplace discriminate against parents. The employer feels that by making reasonable adjustments for a parent they would actually be giving them preferential treatment over colleagues who do not have…

Moving back to the public sector effects me negatively
I have worked for my current employer for around 15 years. Around 2013 our department was privatised and in 2022 it was moved back to the public sector. When I moved back to the public sector I was warned that my salary is in the "red zone" meaning I will receive no further pay rises until my grade catches up (this is the…

Car Allowance when leaving
Hi, I've recently left a job. I worked 9 days in September and had 5 days holiday pay accrued, which was paid to me. I also had a Car Allowance. I was paid the 9 days worth of Car Allowance for the days I worked but not for the 5 days holiday pay accrued? Should I have been paid this extra 5 days as well?

Reasonable Adjustments and Working From Home
Hello, I recently had to complete a DSE Assessment with an external provider and because I have some health issues, which I've had surgery for, they advised that I should have an adapted chair and a desk which can raise/lower as required. The outcome of the assessment was sent to the employer, who passed the assessment to…

Please help. I interviewed for a job with a 5/2 pattern which was confirmed to be MON-FRI. This is stated in the contract without the flexibility working clause. Part-time has fewer rights than Full.
Hi.Situation with a local company. Around 20 employees, with roughly a half-dozen being part-time to a greater or lesser degree. The part-timers are contracted pro-rata, so their salary, holiday entitlement, and everything else is calculated as a direct %-age of the full time rate. The company has been looking at making…
