Clydesdale Anti Money Laundering?
So I looked at my Credit Karma app earlier and under Soft Search I've had 2 entries titled Clydesdale Bank Anti Money Laundering. What the fudge?. The only thing I can think of is this might be due to me manually having to open a Virgin Money Regular Saver because all my money goes through Virgin to fund regular savings…

Do joint account debit cards say so on them
Or are they a carbon copy of your other single account? I can't be having to read the numbers to distinguish between 2 of the same card at the till so may need to use another bank?

Unexpected New Lloyds Debit Card
Lloyds have unnexpectedly sent me a new Debit card that will expire in Nov 2027. This replaces a perfect good card that expires later in Jan 2028. Why have they done this, and which one should I use? I could do without the faff!

Direct Debit before invoice
Hello, wasn’t sure what category this would come under, but I’m unsure what to think about this: I live in a new development and we have a factoring company that looks after the maintenance of the development and communal buildings and spaces. They send an invoice to me every 6 months (May and Nov) and I set up a direct…

Chase Merchant Category Code List
Does a thread already exist somewhere discussing the MCC codes used by chase when it comes to getting cashback? I usually spend quite a bit on amazon and want to make sure I'm getting cash back for certain items when usually you wouldn't get cash back when buying such items through a different merchant.

Banks refusing/ignoring/sidestepping clear requests to register complaints via chat
Thought I'd open a thread to raise awareness and get others to share experiences. In the last year my wife and I have had cause to open a complaint via app-based 'live chat' four times with four separate banks, and on each the clear request to 'open a complaint' has not initially resulted in a complaint being opened.…

Making Regular Payments to France
I want to send a regular monthly payment of £100 (equivalent) to my 14 year old grandson's existing account in France. I can do this easily enough 'fee-free' using my Lloyds current account. However, the receiving bank seems to feel justified in charging 14.75 euros for accepting the deposit; obviously this does not make…

Best app/account/service for getting some money efficiently from the US to the UK
My wife has recieved an inheritance in the USA, it's not mega-bucks, under six figures, but is large enough that a couple of percent of difference in fees adds up to a large enough sum of money that I'd like to minimise the cost. This is also reliant on family and a solicitor cooperating in the US, so it needs to be…

The practicalities of building up money pots in the early days
I have a separate Debt Free Wannabe thread going about building up an emergency fund, but I think this question is best suited here. Please feel free to move if that is not the case. I have created money pots in my banking app for every conceivable area from our SOA and allocated an appropriate amount to each for the first…
