Which current account to go for?
I have had a Halifax Cardcash account since god knows when. My credit history has been pretty boring but got improved throughout the last year or so. Even managed to get myself an Egg and Barclaycard. At the same time I got the cards, I thought it would be nice to have a proper debit card. Unfortunately Both Smile and…

Moving from First Direct...but to where?
I've been (happily) with First Direct for 5 years (i think) but it’s no longer giving me the best deal out there - but having gone through most of the money sites I can find (and even having trawled MSE extensively) I’m still none the wiser as to who I should move to... Citibank or Alliance & Leicester or…

With all the promotional offers for free wine, £25, £35, and £40 etc being offered for opening current accounts, is there any limit to how many you can have? current account-less than £1000 month
I currently bank with Barclays at a pitiful rate of interest. They could offer no better rate so I decided to switch. However, most accounts with good rates ask for £1000 a month to be entered into the account. I Live in Cornwall, by which I mean that I don't earn enough for these accounts. I am looking for a good rate of…

Current account suggestions please?
I'm looking for a new current account, with the cheapest possible authorised overdraft rate, and who are likely to authorise an overdraft of at least £200 on an ongoing basis. I plan to keep the balance as close to zero as possible, yet still be able to get cash in a hurry. Whenever I incur an overdraft, I plan to pay it…

If I try and setup a regular transfer of funds from my current account to my Cahoot savings account, the online bank system does this: (1) I create a future transfer and confirm it. (2) the Cahoot system creates this future transfer and a…
