Small Pot Lump Sum - Impact on Pension Credit and Housing Benefit (Income / Capital)
Afternoon, I am trying to help my mother in law with a decision on whether to accept a on-off lump sum (small pot) from a pension that was transferred to her after my father in law died. She has explained her worries to me and I have read up as best I can, but just hoping for some feedback from others on whether I am…

DLA back payment and UC question
Good morning, I woke up this morning to a large payment from DLA (we’ve been waiting 19+ weeks and although I’m not sure of the rates) but wanted to ask if this back pay contributes to my UC capital please? It’s child DLA if that makes a difference. I’ll also need to ask for UC to back pay the disability element but I’m…

PIP review form questions
I've just received my PIP review form. I've not had to complete one before, and am gathering information on how to compose my answers. Obviously the questions are based on the information given in my current claim, and I'm unsure what to answer where there's been no change. Is it as straightforward as simply writing "no…

We have received our migration letter. I have some questions which I can't seem to find any definite answers to, if anyone can help? 1) We currently have NHS TC exemption certificates. Capital disregard: ESA, HB and CTR
I recently had a letter from my local council saying that they'd (over)charged me for 10 years for contributions to the cost of my care, it's around £40K. Originally I thought that I would have to come off my ESA, HB and CTR, but someone suggested to me that the £40K might be disregarded because it was the council's error.…

Can someone explain to me in basic terms if I have got this right please. I am on ESA and shortly moving to UC, it sounds quite complicated but from what I understand an assessment period is 1 month.
