VoIP is a technology that has been discussed here on several occassions. I have noticed that a new company -…

Don't Call Sky by 18866
DON’T USE 18866 TO CALL SKY. Those using call18866 (see cheapest home phone calls) shouldn’t use it to call Sky’s customer service centre. The way it works means Sky can see it as an overseas number, and I’ve heard reports of them cutting people off assuming they’re wrongly using it frm abroad. (discuss sky/call18866…

BT capitalising on customer ignorance

Yes, yes, BT are within their contractual rights...... yada, yada. However: 1, The phones probably cost BT around…

18866
I dialled 18866 before making calls, and most of the time, the voice mail will tell me whether it is a free call or how much the call will cost. However, sometimes as soon as I dialled I got straight through to the person, and again this happened this afternoon. Just out of curiosity, I checked my account online just now…

18866 (again) & ntl
Apologies if this has been asked before - I've tried searching - but with no success. I'm thinking of switching to 18866 but have ntl. Can you tell me if the 0808 number is free please? I asked ntl and they didn't seem to know - but guessed it would be about 30p per minute! Is this right? Any other problems with 18866 /…

Martin's appearance on Watchdog
Liked your bit on the prog last night, Martin, but could you not ask them, next time you're there, why, as a consumer 'watchdog', they insist on only giving out an 0870 number for contact? Surely this helps to perpetrate the 'covert' premium line scam!
