2006 Volkswagon Passat
I am looking at buying a 2006 Passat diesel (has to be automatic). It has done 113 000 miles. Those who are knowledgeable about these cars are they any good? My budget is 3500 pounds. I am also attracted to the 2004 BMW 5 Series with 140 000 miles on clock and diesel engine. I am not great with the technical stuff on cars…

207 1.6HDI 92 Remap
Hi, I have a 2009 207sw 1.6HDI 92BHP, 45k miles. I really don't want to change the car it's fine in every way except it's a bit underpowered and i'm getting a bit bored with it. Had a quote of £240 for a rolling road custom remap to bring the power up to 120BHP they say. I'd probably not want it brought above 110BHP to…

Provisional Driver Insurance
I'm having big problems trying to get insured or covered on my girl friends car. The problem is that she is 22 and I'm 24. I can't find anyone that will cover me for a 22 year old to supervise a provisional driver without her changing her insurance completely. Does anyone know anyone that can do this? Thanks in Advanced!

HELP! Can someone give me urgent advice on a car hire confirmation
Hi Guys, Yesterday I flew into Birmingham Airport. I needed to hire a car but hadn't done anything previously so went online to get the best deal I could at that late notice. Anyway, I found a deal through CarRentals.co.uk that took me to CarDelMar. It was considerably cheaper, (my rental is for 5 weeks) but everytime I…

Car Insurance
My car insurance is due at the end of January. I went on Compare the Market and my lowest was £192 from Zurich, good price but I wouldn't mind if it was cheaper still. Which companies should I try independently that don't appear on the price comparison sites? Thanks, Ed

Speeding fixed penalty (Scotland)
Good morning all This morning I was speeding and caught by officers at the roadside (in Scotland) and issued with a "conditional offer of fixed penalty". I have no beef with it I was speeding and its a fair cop - I should have been paying a bit more attention. I have no points on my licence so accepting 3 points and a fine…

Mobile speed camera, or something else?
I passed a camera placed on a tripod at the side of the road and a van was sitting in a lay by just past it. It was a smaller van (not transit size) and had no speed camera markings that I could see. There were two guys sat in the front, wearing fluorescent jackets and I think they had some electronic equipment on the dash…

Classic car insurance - the downside :(
I've had my 2cv for nearly 16 years, and started off on a standard insurance policy. After one incident it became clear that a classic car policy would be better, as I could get a guaranteed value, not just what 'the computer' says it's worth. So I changed to a classic car insurer. After a few years I spotted a paragraph…
