Haven't marketed my house yet but want to put offer in on another house
We were not looking for a house but one came on to the market in an ideal location for us and at a price I believe we can afford. Hence, we have made no preparations for selling our current house or arranging a new (additional) mortgage in principle. I believe I will have no trouble raising the additional mortgage finance…

The EA just says its a corporate sale. Is there any thing I should be cautious of in making an offer for the property. Tony

House buying newbie questions
First time buyers, so probably going to ask some newbie questions! We've seen the house we want to buy, the asking price is £265k It has three upstairs bedrooms, two doubles and one single. The sticking point for us is that the bathroom is downstairs, and it's only a shower room. I've spoken to my builder brother and he…

Cheeky offers
Has anyone ever had an offer accepted that was far far below the asking price? For some reason I think 10% below is as far as I'd go but I'm not sure why!

Lloyds Corporate Sales - anyone know how to contact them for probate house?
Hi, a long shot of a question.... we have seen a house we like. The agent has told us that Lloyds are selling the house. I think it is probate or something. The agents are selling on behalf of Lloyds. We have made an offer and so have two other people. Now, the agent has said that Lloyds could accept our offer but will…

not sure this is the right place ?
But here goes Hi I am hoping someone on here may be able to help me. My FIL has just died and while looking for his funeral plan we have come across a policy with NPI which says in 2001 he sold 66% of his house for £15000 and the rest for £9000 3 years later. The house was valued at £165000. He was 73 and I am sure this…

What is a fair damage deposit retention for carpet stains?
Hi, On checking out, tenant has caused several carpet stains which will not budge dispite professional clean. Check in inventory (signed) states VG condition no stains. Carpet is still useable, but obviously devalued significantly beyond normal W&T. So how should I (as LL) calculate a fair charge for these stains? thx

Ultimatum/proposal for vendor.
Evening all, I'll try and keep this brief and clear. We had offer accepted on a property at the beginning of August of £182,000. We since had a HBR survey completed and instructed solicitors. Total spend so far £1300, of which £649 is theoretically refundable on no completion/no fee basis. The offer was made on the basis…

There is a very large weeping willow tree (about 12 metres tall) in the neighbours garden that is about 5 or 6 metres away from the property.I have been informed that this tree has a preservation order on it.…

How long did you look for before finding the house you bought?
For those on here who have purchased recently I thought it would be interesting to find out how long people were looking for before finding the house they bought. My failed purchase was actually the first house I viewed. I did view another 3 houses before making an offer so I had something to compare it to. Six weeks into…

Neighbours and right of access
Sorry this is going to be long but it’s the only way to explain the situation. My house is an end terrace, there’s a small gap, then another terrace. There’s a gap between my house and the house on the right, big enough for a car to get through, which leads to a space behind my house and the house on the left, designed to…
