20mm or 40mm for garden bed?
Help! Decided to use slate to try and keep weeds down in garden bed. I am thinking the larger size may look better - any pros or cons for using different sizes? Thanks

Cut the grass?
I moved into my house 5 weeks ago and it has a small lawn back and front. The lawn was beautiful, like a snooker table actually. It took me about 3 weeks to get round to buying a mower and then it was wet. The grass has grown and some of it has seed heads. Is it the wrong time to cut it? Any advice gratefully received.

Non grass 'lawn'! Not chamomile
Any one got any ideas? I am planning a garden ATM, and it has been mooted buy dh we leave an access path accross the back, which would make sence (we have climbers and trees to attend to there, and easier than stepping on a border. I do not particularly want 'a path' surface there, and definietly do not want grass. The…

Will bamboo screening damage a fence?
Half our garden has been out-of-bounds as the neighbour owns the fence and where it drops to 4' it's inadequate to keep our dogs inside. Obviously this is our problem, not the neighbour's, and I don't expect them to have to worry about it - hence having just sectioned off that part of the garden until we could do a…

New Garden
Hi All, Recently moved into a new build, and would like to think about getting the garden in some sort of order before the heavy rain and snow arrives. Plastic compost bin, no sunny spot.
We have a big compost but its a long way from the kitchen, (and this gets delayed to being less frequent than ideal) and I quite fancy having a Dalek style one a quick hop and skip from the back door, but the only suitable position for the garden layout gets no sun. Is this an absolUte nono, and is going to smell so bad…
