More structural than greenfingered...
Hi, I moved into my house ten years ago. The fencing isn't in a good state so I have arranged for a bloke to come and put concrete posts/fence panels up. As a courtesy I thought I should let next door know. So last night I went round (we aren't really friendly so never really talked for long before). Anyway I say what I am…

Water Butt Question
Can anyone please advise me if a water butt should be ventilated as such. Have purchased a Butt with stand etc and l notice the lid has a little removable cap in the centre of it, does this suggest that it should be removed to allow ventilation, or by removing it would that encourage flies etc. Many thanks

A cheap fencing solution please!
We live in an upstairs flat with a shared garden, on one side of the garden is a nice large fence and on the other is a 4ft mesh affair. But our half of the garden has the 4ft fence, and the large fence is part of the other tenants garden. (I hope I'm explaining it right) So we need a fence to go right down the middle, to…

Any ideas of things to 'make' for the garden?
I have been slaving away all last summer clearing our jungle of a garden, finally FINALLY down to the last half dozen or so jobs needing done :j So, I'm trying to think slightly ahead. Been gathering up empty glass sauce jars, thinking of turning them into tealight holders to use in the garden. I have a wooden table and…

Chainsaw
I've been allowed to get a chainsaw by the wife! However, I am limited to a budget of £100. I need to chop down approx 8 trees, all over 40 feet high with branches / trunks up to 14inchs. After that, i wont have that much use for one, hence the budget. Nowhere around here hires them out, or if they do they charge much more…
