Very good starts for my second day of having my head out of the sand. 1st 'debt busting call' of the day was to the mortgage company - they were brilliant, will doing all the cost cutting exercises yesterday, cancelling this, stopping that etc I have enough to meet my mortgage payment…

How sad am I?
How sad is this, I have a party to go to tonight but I'd much rather stay at home in my PJ's on here tonight, just mooching about.:o I don't think there is any chance I can get out of going out but I really don't feel like going out and then either crashing out miles from home and having the raging hangover. Even if I…

Please can someone help me...
I'm a full time student, started in september. I don't have a job at the moment but I'm looking, finding it harder than I thought. The problem is, I've got a debt on my shoulders. It's not much (£600) compared to some I guess but at the moment I have no way to pay it. It was an egg card that i got behind with payments so…

Full & Final Settlements
Hi, Does anybody have any experience of offering a lesser amount to a creditor for full and final settlement of a debt? What amount of the debt would a creditor likely accept? And at what level should the first offer to clear the debt go in at? Thanks

No Debt - So why No Go?!
As a student I defaulted on my current account and ended up having to pay off the debt to a debt collection agency. That's all now behind me and I've looked at my credit profile to find no outstanding debts on it since I paid it off 12 months ago. However, I still can't get credit of any kind. Even credit cards like…

31/12/2007 What small dfw thing have you done or will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Before I go to bed
I would like to say one heck of a MAHOOSIVE thank you to EVERYONE who has given so much of their time to help me out today. The New Year's Eve DFW Stay-At-Home Party!
I guess a few of us will be stopping in tomorrow night. It's the sociable times of the year I find slightly tricky, as I do feel a bit of a billy no mates when I force myself to stop in! I've been invited to two house parties (which are at least cheaper than going out!) but one's in London, one in the East Midlands. So…

My revised SOA - according to CCCS
Hi all I have now amended this after speaking to CCCS, this is from their budget planner. It is now worse than the original as they have allowed for repayments that I had forgotten. I have deleted some of the things that they included, like allowances for car repairs - if the car breaks I'll get the bus! Mortgage £802.01…
