I think im entitled to a Tax rebate, any advice?
Hi everyone, basically I am a student who has a part-time job (11 hours a week) for the past few years. Last summer I went working at a factory with a temp recruitment company. If
Iv'e been transferring 3K a year into a joint account, with myself and my son. Yes dumping assetts, he's in need of it, at the moment, more than me, although the money has never been touched - If, my clock over runs I would have no problem in getting it back. If, the alternative happens, would he get stung on CGT, it being…

Council tax late payment charges
About 7 years ago my husband was ill and ended up having to leave his job. He was unemployed for about 6 months and when he went back to work it was on a much lower salary. This lead to us being unable to pay our council tax, so a 10per cent charge was added on. We started to pay the arrears at an agreed monthly amount,…

Save the 10% tax band
There are two new petitions on the Downing Street website: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/10percenttax/ http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Savethe10pcband/ If you remember the road charging petition - nearly 2 million signatures - it must be worth taking a little time to sign, even if it doesn't affect you. Two petitions? Is this…

Can I choose a lower tax code?
Well, can my wife actually? She puts a fair chunk of money into a private pension each month, so used to get a nice little cheque from the taxman every year. However, a couple of years ago she had her tax code increased to take account of the pension payments. This year she ended up with a bill for over £300 due to a pay…

Hi all, I have been working as a contractor for a couple of years. I have worked 'inside' IR35 from the start.
