Joint account and debt
My wives work colleague is separated from her husband. When they separated the joint account was 3k in credit. Now it is 6k in debt. The bank have told her they can not take her off of the account because of the debt. What is her best option and is the bank right in letting her get more in debt.

Paying in old coins and notes
I have come across yet more old pound coins and old ten pound notes. I know this has been discussed in the recent past, but wondered if the situation with paying these in has changed recently. General consensus last time was that you can usually pay them in to a bank account when you go to a bank that you're a customer of.…

TSB Android App uses external trackers
I run an ad blocker on my home network and it seems that the TSB Android banking app requires access to two external sites that are normally used for various devious tracking/logging purposes, namelytags.tiqcdn.com and csi.gstatic.com. With access to either of these blocked the app will not run. I would have thought that…

Old unprocessed cheque, legally obliged to reissue?
Hi all, not sure if this is the right sub. I recently found a cheque issued to my partner in 2014 for £91 that she never banked. It's from a letting agent and was the remainder of a deposit returned to her once she left. Obviously the cheque is too old to bank and I have emailed the company on her behalf asking them to…

Don't be fooled by cunning con artists
I guess this is apt for the times - a July standard notification message in online banking from one of the majors - maybe sent to all customers or maybe to over 60s?: Personal: Don't be fooled by cunning con artists Fraudsters can "spoof" text messages and set up emails to make them look like they're from us. Never give…

Revolut asks for photo id, but refuses photo with id theft protection
I am not asking for legal advice (though I'd welcome it, obviously), but would be grateful for information from those who know the law better than I do, or who could point me in the right direction. Revolut (online bank) recently blocked my account for no reason (beyond the scope of this thread). I have quite a bit of…
