Pet insurance Claim

Options
Hello,

We have time limited cover for our dog. Unfortunately he has just been diagnosed with a bladder infection. He is on antibiotics and should all clear up in a week or so.

We’re debating about claiming on the insurance although we will only end up with £40 at the end of it due to the excess.

Does anyone know if this now becomes an existing condition when we take out insurance in the future? The guidenance notes suggest this is only for long term conditions.

Any advice greatly welcomed.

Thanks

it would depend on when you take out a new policy and who with.

Some companies are stricter than others.

Some companies will exclude but remove the exclusion after 2 years if no recurrence or further treatment for it.

NOT A RECOMMENDATION but have a look at Bought By Many. They have a policy which will cover pre existing conditions if the dog is under 2 years old.

You could phone a company you are interested in and ask if it would be considered a ore existing condition.
It is not only a pre existing condition that is excluded but anything that can be connected with so there is a possibility of an exclusion.

Whether you claim or not does not make any difference.
