Hi Dolly,
I split from my ex when I was 33 years old after 18 years ago. That was 7 years ago now and it was tough but after a few months i settled into a routine. The only real advice I'd have is make sure you still go out, socialise etc. it's very easy to hide away

Thank you both.

I am back to the socialising this weekend as it is my birthday.

Thursday - Out with my Mum, Sister and Friend for dinner and cocktails
Friday - Clean the flat and hand the keys back then will have a chilled night at home
Saturday - Off to my best friends for a takeaway and some drinks
Sunday - Out for dinner with my workies

Really looking forward to it!

Been hiding away for a month that is enough for me.

Time to get back to the life that will continue no matter what.

So met him last night to get the keys back.

He picked me up from work & was just chatting away as if nothing has happened.

He said to me obviously this is sad but try to take care of yourself and not get to upset - eh you just ended our Marriage without how I feel even coming into it so I'm obviously going to be upset!

Honestly I don't get how some peoples minds work.

I got to my car he took the keys off the key ring and I was out the car straight away, I just couldn't hang about and talk about anything the time for talking is done.

Was crying in the van as usual when I see him but that will be the last time, so at least I know I don't have to see him again for anything.

Made it into work today, only person in in my team!

Hoping they shut the office so I can go home early and not have to work the time back

I don't think I will ever understand how other peoples minds work. I'm sorry it was so emotional for you, it sounds like he has been rather selfish in his approach to the whole thing. It's all done with now and you won't have to see him again so you can begin this new chapter in your life.

That's exactly it, he has been so selfish and that is what has shocked me most.

The way he has done all this has just been so bad.

I really have no clue how men's brains work. It's like they think they have to speak and full the gap with nonsense communication.
My ex boyfriend dumped me after 6 years and the very last time we saw each other I was getting on a train he told that that he loved me. Like hello could you be saying anything more stupid! You clearly don't!

I have to conclude that they think they are making it easier but On top of all of the emotions I felt so irriattated and so exasperated.

Grrr well what you do now is nothing to do with him. My ex boyfriend said something similar about looking after myself and I told him it's nothing to do with you what I do next.
You can do what you like and it's none of his business.
I hope you get send home too. It said on our news Scotland is due 14 inches of snow - if that's true you should be at home definately! xxx

14 inches!!!

Praise be the lords that they send us home, snow is still falling a tiny bit and the office is empty anyway.

Will keep you all posted, hopefully I will be home watching a box set in a few hours - can't wait!!
