Transfer value change of 3.7% in 2 months 14th Feb 18 at 9:52 PM
    Hi
Had illustration of Transfer value for FS in Dec 2017- elected to transfer went through cooling off period and have now had 'guaranteed' TF value which is 3.8% less ( 36k)
I know values are linked to bonds/gilts but does this 'sound' right?
    Thanks for help

Not sure about bonds and gilts but my funds in equities are down by this amount or more - just like the markets.

yields are up over that period and expected to continue. So, that is one of the things that will lower CETVs. The peak point to transfer has probably passed now (although that was thought a couple of years ago too).

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Comments are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice. Different people have different needs and what is right for one person may not be for another. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

My IFA warned me at the end of December that this was likely to happen, and it would appear from reading several articles in the news over the past couple of days that this is exactly the experience people are having with transfer values at the moment.
