People do win without comment but some believe a comment helps.

I don't comment as a rule unless I genuinely have something to say.

    Hiya,

Theoretically, you can win without a comment (unless it specifies to comment, obviously) but I always end up writing something...
Strictly no begging or sob stories, and not a generic cut-and-paste comment with token emojis that you've seen the same comper post a dozen times already today!

I think leaving a unique comment helps organisers to see you as an actual person and not just a rt'd spambot.

I also suspect that my commenting is the reason I've avoided being 'shadowbanned', despite me rt'ing a lot of competitions.

Just my thoughts, best of luck

Plus it makes twitter a more interesting place when you occasionally get responses

My account was suspended yesterday and I'm waiting for them to unlock it. The procedure to unlock it myself isn't an option.

Slightly annoying but I had a chuckle to myself that it's only happening now after being active since 09 and have 96K tweets.

I mainly RT with the occasional comment so maybe something to bear in mind.

I don't think you HAVE to comment, but anecdotally I've had more success in periods where I've commented lots too rather than just RTing.

    Hello,

Your account is now unlocked, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Twitter has automated systems that find and remove automated spam accounts and it looks like your account got caught up in one of these spam groups by mistake.
